I’ve always wondered how cozy can it get for the writer when trying to pen down a cozy mystery novel.
Is the writing process as thrilling as reading the book?
I guess we’ll figure it out.
I have a few goals for this blog. A few of them are:
- Learning about writing cozy mystery books
- Document my journey as I write the book
- Help other writers along the way
- Share writing adventures with cozy mystery readers
As I write this it reminds me of the famous Build In Public movement of the tech industry.
If you’re not familiar with it, here’s a simple definition,
Building products and services in public (most likely your audience) making them part of the development process from beginning to launch.
So I guess, this blog can be considered a Build In Public or in this case, Write In Public project.
So what do I intent to share here?
From what I know, I work well when I get a bird’s eye view of what I am getting into.
It makes things easier to zoom out and see the whole picture.
The 4-step cozy process
I’ll be working in a four-step process. These steps are:
1. Learning– about how to write cozy mystery books
2. Implementation– start to put it in action
3. Execution– the actual writing process
4. Publishing– all the stuff like editing, cover design etc
Not too fancy I suppose. But it’s good to keep it simple.
At least in the beginning because too much too soon can get overwhelming.
Of course, the steps may change or evolve with time. We’ll have to wait and see.
For now, that pretty much wraps it up. Stay tuned for more.
